Frankfurt Book Fair

Frankfurt Book Fair

The Frankfurt Book Fair is the biggest book and media fair in the world. In 2006, 7,272 exhibitors from 113 countries presented their products on a total area of 172,000 square metres. The Frankfurt Book Fair is the most important international trading centre for rights and licences.

With its extensive databases and catalogues, the Frankfurt Book Fair's website is an important work tool, available to the industry 365 days a year. 19,000 titles are on offer internationally in the Frankfurt Rights Catalogue, around 8,500 companies are listed in the Frankfurt Catalogue and the Frankfurt Who's Who provides the details of 19,500 of the industry's decision-makers worldwide. Directories for trade visitors, translators, journalists and booksellers complete the picture. In addition, a monthly Newsletter provides information with the latest news from the Frankfurt Book Fair and the international industry.

Every year, the Frankfurt Book Fair organises German collective stands at more than 25 international book fairs and in this way, targets the presentation of titles from German publishing companies on the most important foreign markets. The permanent Frankfurt Book Fair offices in other countries - the German Book Office (GBO) in New York and the German Book Information Centres (BIZ) in Beijing, Bucharest, Moscow and Warsaw - operate as information and service centres for the industry both at home and abroad. They are contact addresses for publishers, booksellers, librarians and the professional public.
